There are 1 lakh 10 thousand MSME units in Odisha, out of which only 500 to 600 units have been registered through District Industries Centres and invested 500 to 600 crore. About 20,000 of these are sick and around 10,000 are passing through incipient sickness. In this scenario, the Interactive Seminar "Internet for MSMEs", organized by Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) ,Young India, DISHA and supported by Verisign & Ministry of MSMEs at Bhubaneswar on May 31, 2011 was a timely initiative to help the MSMEs in understanding about the means they can employ to make themselves visible to and connect with customers globally in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
