Young India is awarded National Youth Award
In recognition of outstanding services to the community, Young India is awarded National Youth Award for the year 2008-09. In inaugural function of National Youth Festival 2010 at Bhubaneswar on 8th January N.A.Shah Ansari, President & R. Sunanda Chowdhury, General Secretary of Young India received this award from Dr. M.S.Gill, Union Minister ,Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports & Sj. Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister,Orissa.

Since 1989 Young India has taken commendable steps in the field of youth development, promotion of local self governance, gender equality, human rights etc. Thousands of youth are trained in different capacity building trainings organised by Young India.
A number of unique & innovative steps are also taken by Young India which are well visible in the country. Since International Year of Volunteers 2001 Young India has been organising a national level youth congregation at Konark, Orissa entitles "Konark Youth Fest".To engender database of Indian Volunteers & promote networking among them for exchange of Knowledge, Expertise, ideas & information Young India has also started a volunteers portal i.e. www.volunteersindia.in which is the only such type portal in the country. Young India has also established Radio Namaskar (FM 90.4 MHz) the only community radio of Orissa to promote voice of the voiceless. For such types of actions Young India is awarded which has shown a new light to the youth population of the country.
