'Soochana Shree' Award Presented to RTI Activists in Orissa


On the 3rd Anniversary of RTI Act hundreds activist took pledge to fight against corruption during State Level Convention on Right to Information. During this occassion 5 RTI activists of Orissa have been felicitated in SOOCHANA SHREE AWARD for their effective RTI practices having sound development impact on lives of communities and citizens at grass root level.

This state level convention was organised by NAMASKAR forum to
commemorate 3rd Anniversary of Right to Information Act-2005. More
than 300 activists from different parts of the state have participated
in this event & shared their experience on RTI implementation.

This convention was chaired by Gandhian activist S.A.Safique & among
others DFID state representative Dr.Supriya Pattanaik, Director HDF
Dr.Dhanada Mishra, Pradip Pradhan , shared their views & experience
regarding  RTI in Orissa.

During the period noted RTI activist & convener of NAMASKAR N.A.Shah
Ansari shared the experience & foot steps on the way of NAMASKAR
during its attempt to propagate the message of RTI in Orissa.

This Soochana Shree Award for RTI crusaders has been implemented in
Orissa, as first initiative in the country, which should be replicated
in other parts of the country Speakers said.

In second session  the participants shared their experience & hurdles when they use RTI & also proposed different options to save RTI in orissa. This was made as a memorandum to be submitted before authorities.
